Pain Explained clip

We become filmmakers!

One of the many impressive things about Oberlin students is the range of their talents.

Ava Dishian and Emily Eisenstein joined my lab as research assistants. As the 1step2life project developed, Ava and Emily stepped up to help us teach people about the difference between healthy pain and how it evolves into long-term and dysfunctional chronic pain. Ava’s experience as a Cinema Studies major and Emily’s creative writing skills came to the fore.

Ava and Emily worked with my husband, Andrew Burns, to develop artwork for the project. Other members of the lab contributed their voice and editing talents.

The first film in our growing 1step2life library!
